Utica NAACP: Black History Month - Resistance

Hosting The Annual Celebration: We celebrate Black History Month by remembering our ancestor’s efforts and lessons as we build towards the future. It is in the spirit of Sankofa that we remembered Utica’s Freedom Trail history, honored local pioneers like Robbie Dancy, the first organizer of Utica’s Juneteenth Celebration, and guide the youth leaders and poets to speak and share their dreams.

Experience Testimonial

“It was a joy having you host; your ability to pull themes of the event and presentations together while keeping the momentum going, and your heartfelt and inspirational remarks made a difference - thank you!!”

— Alane Varga, NAACP Secretary
